Lunch Menu Analysis

The lesson on Monday and Tuesday (Oct 15 & 16) began with a pair-share activity thinking about the different factors that influence a person’s food choices. Then students took time to read through the  EXPLANATION AND EVIDENCE for why nutritionists at Harvard designed the healthy eating pyramid this way. A student in class also shared this video she found on YouTube that exposes the dangers of a high sugar diet. Next, students worked in pairs to ANALYZE the school’s Lunch Menu for the week, mapping out the food items according to the healthy eating pyramid guideline.
