Lesson on Stress

The lesson on Mon and Tues (Jan 27 & 28) explored the concept of stress – what it is, what it may look, feel like, and sound like (Negative Stress Y-Chart), what may be triggers or causes of stress for individuals (Stressors Check List), clarifying Key Definitions, reviewing the series of changes that occur in the body when a person perceives stress (General Adaptation Syndrome), and identifying some healthy ways, short- and long-term, to cope with and manage negative stress. Ms. Lockwood also brought a pressure cooker into class and had students think about the ways in which this item relates to the lesson topic. Students then completed a stress reflections for themselves (see document copied to your health folder in google drive – this is an in-class activity).
